4 week ONLINE course - Starts week commencing 24th May until 18th June.
Choose from a Thursday 7.30pm - 9.00pm OR Friday 10.00am - 11.30am
In each week's 90 minute long relaxed zoom workshop I'll share some of my favourite techniques and my own personal hints and tips.
And together, with you, I hope to provide you with a community of supportive, like minded participants!
Eco-printing is a technique which involves bundling leaves in cloth and then steaming the bundles. Under the right conditions, the prolonged contact of the leaf on the cloth can make a beautiful print by naturally dyeing the fabric. This is a technique that I was introduced to a couple of years ago, and it's very experimental, but very exciting when you get results!
Over the course of the block I'll take you through the best choice of fabrics to use, examples of the kind of effects you can get, preparing fabrics for eco-printing, making your bundles, steaming and drying.
For this course you'll need a large pan, (stock pot, casserole pot or similar,) and something like a colander or veg steamer to hold your bundle.
Each week we'll discuss together what plants we've managed to responsibly forage for, make bundles and find out the results! - hopefully having some shared learning of this lovely technique along the way!
