BOTANIC PRINT AND STITCH
 
In Person course - Deemouth Artist Studios Project Space, Torry, Aberdeen. Saturday 8th June, 10:30am - 4pm

Level: Beginner/Intermediate.

This course combines two of my favourite techniques - mono print and hand stitch, and is suitable for all levels. 
 
In this day long relaxed in person workshop we'll spend our morning exploring simple mono-print techniques using botanical elements as material and inspiration. Following a lunch break we will then explore different hand embroidery stitches that we can use to embellish our prints.
 
You will leave with a number of print samples and a progressed final piece that you can go on to develop in your own time if you choose. 
 
You will cover the following techniques:
Mono-printing on fabric using simple stamps / natural materials
Getting started – setting up your hoop, handling threads, starting and stopping stitching
Several embroidery stitches suited to your printed piece
Bringing your stitches together to create your own composition
 
Materials to bring with you: For this course all materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring along your own fabric, embroidery hoop, needle and threads if you wish.

Light refreshments will be provided. The day will include a 30 minute lunch break but please bring your own lunch.

Please take a moment to read our cancellation policy before you book: Unfortunately, our in person classes are non-refundable. Due to our small class sizes it is also very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.
 
In the event that we are forced to cancel a class, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or swap your booking to another suitable date.
