EMBELLISHMENT & BEADS
 
In Person course - Deemouth Artist Studios Project Space, Torry, Aberdeen. Saturday 5th October, 10:30am - 4pm

Level: Beginner/Intermediate. 
 
​Perfect for beginners to embroidery or beading, or for people familiar with embroidery stitching but looking to develop their own embroidery style and develop beading and embellishment techniques.
 
Using her own unique creative approach, Fiona will show you how to add beads and sequins to your embroidered pieces or textiles giving an extra dimension to your work.
 
She will take you through ways to build height and texture with sequin and bead embellishment, how to work beads into stitches, and show you how you can go on to further develop your own work.
 
You will cover the following techniques:
Attaching seed and bugle beads
Attaching flat and cup sequins
Building height with combinations of beads and sequins
Working beads and sequins into stitches
Bringing techniques together to create your own composition
 
Materials to bring with you: For this course all materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring along your own fabric, embroidery hoop, needle and threads if you wish.

Light refreshments will be provided. The day will include a 30 minute lunch break but please bring your own lunch.

Please take a moment to read our cancellation policy before you book: Unfortunately, our in person classes are non-refundable. Due to our small class sizes it is also very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.
 
In the event that we are forced to cancel a class, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or swap your booking to another suitable date.
 
Please note: My studio and toilets are located up two flights of stairs. Please contact me in advance of booking if you have any accessibility requirements.
