SASHIKO FOR REPAIR
In Person course - Deemouth Artist Studios Project Space, Torry, Aberdeen. Friday 17th May
10am – 12:30pm

Level: Beginner/Intermediate.
In this relaxed introductory in person workshop I'll demonstrate useful textile repair techniques using the 'Sashiko' form of stitching. We will look at reinforcing fabric and using the technique to patch repair holes or rips.
You will leave with knowledge of this useful textile repair technique and a small stitch sampler that you can use as reference for your own future projects.
You will cover the following techniques:
- Getting started – setting up your work, handling threads, starting and stopping stitching
- How to work Sashiko stitches for a repair or reinforcement
Materials to bring with you: For this course all materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring along your own fabric, embroidery hoop, needle and threads if you wish.
Light refreshments will be provided. The day will include a short tea/coffee break.

Due to our small class sizes it is also very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.
In the event that we are forced to cancel a class, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or swap your booking to another suitable date.
